Day 10. Qatar Airways flight from Kuala Lumpur to Manchester via Doha

We boarded our overnight flight to Doha and after a snack of chicken wraps and chocolate muffins I settled back in my seat and watched ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, the sequel to the film I’d watched on my outbound flight.  It was equally good.  I then fell asleep for a few hours before touching down at Doha airport.

Again, there were insufficient air bridges available so we had to be transported to the terminal building on buses.  To be fair, it was well organised and a speedy process.   Our transit time was quite short so we were soon waiting at the gate for our Manchester connection.

Once on board, we were seated in the front section of economy class and were soon asleep again until breakfast was served at 4.30 am (UK time).  My choice of omelette, chicken sausages and potatoes didn’t taste very good, but the yoghurt, croissant and juice were quite an improvement.

We landed at Manchester airport at 7.05 am UK time and after we had reclaimed our baggage, we opened our suitcases so that we could put our coats on, as it was about 20 degrees cooler there than in Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur had been a good choice of holiday destination.  Although close in distance  to its neighbour across the straits,  Singapore,  it’s totally different, Kuala Lumpur is a chaotic mix of traffic, crowds, street food and urban jungle, but an endearing one at that, it’s the real Asia!

  1. I have read all 10 days of your visit to Malaysia and glad that you were happy with your visit. I myself will travel to the UK next February 🙂

By the way, just to inform you that earlier this year the subsidy for KLIA Ekspres ticket had been lifted, so now the price is RM 55 one way. However, discounts will be given (10% or 20% I could not remember) if we pay by using a Mastercard at the ticketing kiosk.
