For anyone facing an early morning flight from Manchester Airport, I’d highly recommend considering a Holiday Extras Park, Stay & Fly package. Ours included an overnight stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport, located directly beside the airport, along with overnight parking in the hotel’s own secure car park and Meet & Greet parking for the duration of our holiday. It proved to be an excellent, hassle-free way to begin our trip.
Arrival and Check-in

After arriving at the hotel, check-in was quick and effortless. We simply entered our car registration number on the touchscreen at reception to register our vehicle for the overnight stay.

As is tradition at every DoubleTree hotel, we were each welcomed with one of their famous warm chocolate chip cookies which we took up to our room and enjoyed with our cups of coffee.
Our Room

From reception we took the lift up to our room which was spacious, attractively furnished and very comfortable. It featured a king-size bed, wall-mounted television, a desk and chair, and plenty of storage space for our luggage.

The bathroom was traditionally styled and included a bath with an overhead shower, soft fluffy towels, quality toiletries and a hairdryer. Knowing we had an early start, we set a wake-up alarm on the television, alongside our phone alarms, ready for our planned departure at 4.45 a.m.
Dining

Due to our late evening arrival and very early departure, we didn’t have the opportunity to dine in the hotel’s restaurant, as the kitchen was just about to close when we arrived. However, the restaurant itself looked stylish and welcoming and after browsing the menu we found a good selection of classic dishes, all reasonably priced. We’d certainly be happy to try it on a future visit.
The Facilities

The DoubleTree offers a range of excellent facilities that make it much more than simply an airport hotel. The ground floor features a welcoming cocktail bar, coffee shop and several comfortable lounge areas where guests can relax before or after their journey. There’s also a well-equipped gym and fast, reliable Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, all of which helped make our overnight stay both comfortable and enjoyable.
Meet & Greet Parking at Terminal 2

The following morning we were up bright and early. After checking out, we loaded our luggage back into the car and followed the clearly signposted directions to the Terminal 2 Meet & Greet car park, located on the top level of the multi-storey car park.

After being directed into one of the parking bays, the process couldn’t have been simpler. We unloaded our luggage and then walked into the Terminal 2 departure hall, where we handed our car keys over at the Meet & Greet reception desk before heading straight to check-in.

When we returned a week later, we simply collected our keys from the secure key lockers in the arrivals hall. Attached to the key fob were clear instructions detailing exactly where our car had been parked in the adjoining carpark. Within minutes we had collected the keys, loaded our luggage into the car and were on our way home.
Overall
Our Holiday Extras Park, Stay & Fly package provided a smooth, stress-free start to our holiday and an equally straightforward return home. Staying overnight at the DoubleTree by Hilton meant we avoided the worry of a very early drive to the airport, while the Meet & Greet parking service was efficient, secure and incredibly convenient.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Holiday Extras to anyone flying from Manchester Airport. The combination of an airport hotel, secure parking and an easy handover and collection process represents excellent value for money and removes much of the stress that can come with catching an early morning flight. It’s a service we’ll certainly be using again.
