This morning we caught a rush hour train to Central, then a bus across to Aberdeen via the toll tunnel.   Aberdeen is located on the south of the island and was one of the first locations that British armed forces landed in 1841 and was named after the 4th Earl of Aberdeen.   Our first stop here was for breakfast, delicious warm Portuguese custard tarts and coffee.  We then explored the waterfront,  admiring the many junks, sampans and floating restaurants along the way.  Jumbo is one of the largest floating restaurants in the world and seats 2000 diners at any one time. Fishing boats were landing their daily catch ready to be taken for sale to the local fish market.

We returned to North Point by bus, then spent the afternoon shopping in the air conditioned IFC mall near to the Star Ferry Terminal.

As it was our final evening in Hong Kong, we decided to eat in Wan Chai at the same restaurant we found on our first evening.  We had thought it would be easy to find,  but as we didn’t remember the street name, it took much longer.  Still, we were finally rewarded with good food making our search worthwhile.

I hate it when you find a good restaurant on the first day and then forget how to get back there. Glad it all worked out Marion. Allan
